VOLUNTEERS
Without the valuable contributions of our many volunteers, the Pond Hockey on the Rock Festival would be on thin ice! Volunteers are the real winners of this tournament and just like the players on the ice, we need team players of all ages and skill levels in various positions. The only difference is, instead of dropping your mitts on the rink, you'll be putting them on (and a warm coat too!) and helping to make our festival a success. Not to mention, the generous offer of your time supports Camp Quality, a charity organization that provides camp experiences for children affected by cancer and serious illness.

VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTIONS
Referees
We need volunteer referees to monitor game play, ensure the rules are adhered to and work closely with the scorekeepers to keep score and time. No skates are required and whistles are provided. Review tournament rules HERE.

Scorekeeping
Scorekeepers keep track of every goal scored, team penalties and monitor the time of play. They work closely with the referees, but the job of scorekeeper is a great opportunity to volunteer with a friend, as there are usually two per rink.
Venue and Ice Maintenance
Unfortunately, since our ice is made from natural conditions, it doesn't stay perfect all weekend. We need dedicated volunteers stay on top of all those pesky cracks and holes that develop on the rinks in order to keep our players safe and our games in play. Other odd jobs for venue and rink maintenance are often required. No previous experience needed, but must dress warmly and enjoy working outdoors.
Venue Setup/Venue Takedown
We can't have a Pond Hockey tournament without rinks! And because of that, our venue setup and takedown volunteers are very important. We need all hands on deck to get the rinks ready for game day and set up our venue for our players, volunteers, spectators and vendors. Then of course, it all has to come down when, sadly, the tournament is over. No previous experience is required, but must dress warmly and enjoy working outdoors. Experience with hand tools is a welcome asset. (Venue Set up is on Thursday/Friday only and Venue Takedown is on Sunday only)
Parking Attendants
We need parking attendants to safely direct traffic through the Player Drop-off spot and monitor the limited parking spots at the venue. Visible safety vests are provided. This volunteer position is reserved for ages 18+.
And more!
We have other odd jobs throughout the weekend where extra volunteer hands are required. These jobs include registration assistance, festival greeter, collection of stray balls (pucks), venue clean up and more! If you don't know what position you'd like to volunteer for, but want to help out in any way you can, select "Any Position" in the Volunteer registration form and we'll assign you to a position where help is needed the most.
